CSM: New way to find nuclear waste site?

    A 399-foot-long trailer assembly that will haul a retired steam generator component away from the nuclear power plant in San Onofre, Calif., is seen on Tuesday. A massive 192-wheel trailer will make four trips this year to haul old steam generator parts from the California nuclear power plant to Utah for disposal.A presidential blue ribbon commission says the government "has not inspired confidence" and recommends that a new agency take over the search for storage sites for nuclear waste.


Midair Alaska plane collision kills 4

    A float plane sits on the side of the runway at Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska, Saturday after making an emergency landing. The float plane collided mid-air with a Cessna 180 in the Trapper Creek area. The Cessna 180 crashed to the ground and burned, killing four people on board, authorities said.Four people died when two planes collided in midair in a remote area, officials said. One plane landed safely; the other crashed to the ground and burned.


TV reporter shot doing LA weather report
    A Los Angeles television reporter was struck in the hand by a BB gun pellet Saturday afternoon while delivering a live weather report, officials said.
