NBC News: Debt negotiators 'very close' to deal

    July 30: The House and Senate traded shots Saturday as the clock ticks down to a possible default and members scrambled to weekend strategy sessions. Midair Alaska plane collision kills 4

    A float plane sits on the side of the runway at Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska, Saturday after making an emergency landing. The float plane collided mid-air with a Cessna 180 in the Trapper Creek area. The Cessna 180 crashed to the ground and burned, killing four people on board, authorities said.Four people died when two planes collided in midair in a remote area, officials said. One plane landed safely; the other crashed to the ground and burned.
