Marburger served as the lab's director from 1998 to 2001, and as presidential science adviser from 2001 to 2009.The White House science adviser to President George W. Bush, John H. Marburger III, a physicist, has died at 70. He often dealt with issues about man-made global warming and claims of political interference in science. He also was the longest serving presidential science adviser in U.S. history.


Pataki says he’s ‘considering’ White House run
    Former New York Gov. George Pataki told reporters “I will be very involved in some way, whether it's as a candidate or supporting another candidate or some other capacity."
